The Winter Scene is also one of my favorites.  I liked the challenge of creating snow.

Young Children Swimmimg

This is a painting of children swimming. 

I like the challenge of creating water.  You can see how clear the water is.  The color of the water gives you the feeling that the water is cool.  See how the blues, greens and white blend togeher to give you a swaying effect.  This is a nice painting to look at when it is hot outside. Enjoy!

About Me

   Vicky Cunningham is a portrait and landscape artist.  She attended Highland Park Community College where she received an Associates Degree in Art.  Vicky continued her education at Wayne State University where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education.
     Vicky has always had a love for art.  As a child she would spend much of her time drawing.  After graduating from college and getting married, Vicky decided to put her art on hold.  In 1992, she decided that it was time to get back into art. After only a short time in a painting class, she discovered that she had a talent for oil painting.  In 1997, after entering a painting  (Children of Many Cultures) in the Michigan State Fair, she received  a first place ribbon.  Her favorite subject  to  paint  is portraits.  The idea of taking a blank canvas and filling it with an image can be very spiritual when the image looks like the subject you are painting.  Truly she has a gift from God.  Painting portraits can be very challenging.  Sometimes the harder the portrait, the greater the reward.  Vicky feels that she cannot create a painting without the help from the Lord.  After each work is done she never fails to thank God for His help.
 Today  Vicky takes her artistic talents and puts  them into her graphic projects. 

I call this A 'Peaceful Place'

I did this painting to give me something to look at when I need some 'me time'.  When painting it I was able to escape to a quiet place that's whyI call this painting 'A Peaceful Place'.

One of my favorite paintings

This painting is called Children at play.  This is one of my favorites because I had to meet the challenge of creating water.  Can't you just see the children standing on water. See how the water show the reflection of the children. Hope you enjoy this painting as much as I do.

Two of my paintings

Here are two of my paintings that I did in oil. The first one is entitled 'Children of Many Cultures' I came in first place at the Michigan State Fair for this painting.  This painting features images of my children, nieces and nephews.

The second painting features famous world leaders including Princess Diana, Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. I came in 4th place at the Michigan State Fair.
